Does anyone else have a pile like this
It is composed of stuff that I need to sell because it is worth something and I could use the extra cash BUT it also requires that I take good photos, write good descriptions, list it on places like eBay, craigslist, package and ship.
I just need the motivation to actually do it and I can't seem to ever muster any.
Sometimes I take the pile and put it into a tote bin with a cover and stash it in a closet so at least it is out of the way but it haunts me everytime I open the closet!
Anyone else have such a pile? Any tips for getting motivated to actually go ahead and sell the stuff?
Little update: so after listing some items at low prices that I thought for sure would sell (baby/kid items) they didn't, i went back and reevaluated the pile. More items have joined the charity pile as it's just not with any more space or effort to keep them around.
I have one! It is all in a box, and piled on top of it. It is cloth diapers and toys, and baby clothes. I'm debating on what to do with the clothes, because I think I might get more for them on craigslist than the consignment store, but anyone having a baby in June/July that would need the clothes won't know the sex of the baby for another month. Don't know if I want to keep them around that long. So I guess I have an excuse for part of my pile.
I want to list the stuff, just haven't had time. Plus with the diapers I need to look up and see what the going rate is these days. Oh, so much to do! I will be happy when the major decluttering is done and I have more time for projects. I was going to say fun things but I usually like doing the decluttering!
I've got a large pile in the basement to garage sale. But I've been mentally going thru it to see what things I could get more money for selling on ebay or consignment. I have some baby things that I think would do decent consignment,[url=http://www.holisteroutlet.cc]hollister outlet[/url], and some precious moments I'd like to try on ebay, but shipping would be a hassle since I would have to find boxes they would fit in. Ugh. I just don't know. And the consignment shop is 30 min away, and they only buy for the next (not the current season typically, so I haven't made my way there yet.
If you are on Facebook you should check to see if there is a local sales group there. We have 1 called the "XXX County Mom to Mom Swap Sell" group. So you may not get as much for it as you might on ebay but you just meet up with local people. My rule of thumb is I put something on there and if it isn't sold within a week then I donate it.
If there isn't one you could always start one. But then there's one more thing to keep track of. Also, sometimes it can be hard not to BUY things off of it! (I just bought 3 things for daycare off of it) But it's handy when you need things too. Like winter boots for kids.
Me (blush) but honestly I'm getting ready to donate most of it. The only thing that is catching me up is our Goodmama cloth diapers. I have done the fb swap a few times, but it's such a hassle. I think I will just let them go for super cheap so that they are gone in one lot. ( Im pretty positive Goodwill doesn't appreciate cloth diapering the way us CDers do lol)also my MIL gave me 2 coach purses when I first got married and it was very nice of her, but I'm just not a "designer bag" kind of person. I honestly like carrying my Trader Joes canvas bag for everything.
